What a week!

Every day this week, I opened my browser to find one–or two, or three–things that brought about intense emotional response. Sometimes, they were good emotions. Other times, negative.  

Here’s a recap of the week’s crazy news and events:

• MLK Day
• The presidential inauguration of Barack Obama, our first African-American president
• March for Life
• Pope B16 lifts the excommunications of four bishops in the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X 
• 50 year anniversary of Pope John XXIII’s call for Vatican II

I never thought I’d be blessed enough to witness the inauguration of our nation’s first African American president. I also never thought I’d be so disgusted and frightened by news of excommunications being lifted. 

I’m overwhelmed.
